The purpose of MCaFHNA is to:

  • Provide a forum at a National level for the members to promote a united voice for maternal child and family health nursing.
  • Act as a consultative body on matters relating to maternal child and family health nursing.
  • Promote the clinical specialty of maternal child and family health nursing based on a primary health care model.
  • Encourage and support nursing research in maternal child and family health.
  • Facilitate cooperation between professional member associations in each State and Territory.
  • In consultation with State/Territory Groups, promote initiatives which have a national importance in maternal child and family health nursing.
