Journal

The AJCFHN is the official journal of MCAFHNA. It is with much regret that the MCAFHNA Board announces that the AJCFHN has ceased publication as of December 2023.

The AJCFHN was begun in 2003 to provide maternal child and family health nurses with access to recent clinical research and policy developments.  A primary aim of the journal was to encourage researchers and clinicians to publish content about their own clinical specialty area and was particularly sympathetic to new or inexperienced authors. Over the past twenty years the AJCFHN has published 40 issues and supported the aims of MCAFHNA and its previous entities and maternal child and family health nursing nationally.

The MCAFHNA Board recognises the ongoing need for maternal child and family health nurses to have access to up to date clinical information and research to further develop their area of specialty nursing practice. To this end, the Board has now entered into an arrangement with the Australian College of Paediatric and Young People's Nursing to jointly publish a journal to serve the members of both organisations.   The combined journal will be published under the name of Journal of Children and Young People's Health (JCYPH).

MCFHN are encouraged to send articles for publication to the Editor of the JCYPH, Elizabeth Forster at info@accypn.org.au.  Details for authors and submission of articles are available here

Past editions of the Australian Journal of Child and Family Health Nursing is now available for MCaFHNA members to read online.
